Bounse helps with Auditory Processing Disorder

For many people who have difficulty with listening, learning, development and getting along with others, therapy has been proven to produce some excellent results.Through therapy sessions with Bounse and the brains incredible neuroplasticity, it is possible to open and develop new pathways within the brain and help people to improve the way they receive and also process information.

The first step in the process with Bounse is an initial complimentary phone consultation with one of our clinicians to learn more about how our process works and how we could potentially help your child.

Once we understand an individual’s communication situation, we have an extensive range of well proven solutions available. Our clinicians will tailor these and work with you to find the ‘right’ solution for each individual.

May Suffer From APD

They may be labelled due to no fault of their own.

APD is a serious underlying cause of learning difficulty in children. It has been poorly-diagnosed for a long period of time and unfortunately it cannot be detected by standard hearing tests. Children diagnosed with APD can hear, but have trouble understanding what they hear. They display excessive tiredness after school from the strain of listening and can show difficulty to:

CONCENTRATE
PROCESS SPOKEN INFORMATION
COMPREHEND SPOKEN LANGUAGE
HEAR AGAINST OTHER BACKGROUND NOISES

Because of their difficulties with listening and processing sound, especially in school, these children may have:

LOW SELF ESTEEM
FRUSTRATION
ANXIETY
DIFFICULTY WITH SOCIALISING

This may mean children have behaviour problems and struggle to achieve at school.

THE GOOD NEWS

Children diagnosed with APD can be helped to process sounds and listen, which will in turn help them to learn, develop and get along with others.

Bounse exists because we absolutely believe that with the ‘right’ help, delivered in the ‘right’ way, people can change and improve their situation and outlook for the better. We work with parents, caregivers, educators and other health professionals to help children, and young people overcome obstacles and challenges with communication.
